In the last week I have realized again what awesome affect prayer has and whatever you pray for whether it’s big or small, you prayers can come to reality. What I also realized is that if more than one person prays for the same thing whether it’s to heal a person, or to assist financially, or whatever the situation is that your chance for your prayer to become a reality is even bigger. It makes me think of the verse Matthew 18:19 – “Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.”
I have a couple of friends/family members who have asked in the last year or so for prayers concerning the situation they are in. I’m not going to tell you their story as I think that they will do it way better so I’ll chat to them and ask them to send me their testimonies. But what I will do is tell you my side of the story for now and how I experienced each of their situations. But before I do that I’ll just chat about the random obstacles we encounter every day that is keeping us from our daily prayers.
What I can tell you is that prayer has the most incredible way of working in our lives. I know that I do not pray enough at all and my most horrible excuse “I’m too tired in the evenings” or “we are too busy and don’t have the time” – am I right? Eventually after a long day when we get to bed we just pass out because of exhaustion. Exhaustion because we are over worked and under payed, or busy running the household, making sure the kids are in the bed after a long day of taking them to school, then it’s sport practice after school, then at home there’s homework or studying for tests etc. and after they are in bed you need to clean up after EVERYBODY. I’m sure you guys would agree with the above-mentioned statement.
So the last week or so one of my friends sent out a prayer chain request to A LOT of people for the situation that she and her family was staring at in front of them. All I can say that I do not know how many people prayed for her and her family but the family was blessed with great news and that all went well and that all the people’s prayers together just absolutely made a miracle happen. I know that they still have a long journey in front of them but what I can say is that the fight for them is so much easier because the way the journey started by all the prayers and because of their faith. How incredible is that. Another verse pops up in my head from Matthew 17:20 – “Because you have so little faith.” He answered. “For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
For me faith and prayer walks hand in hand. Yes you can pray daily but if you do not have faith and you do not believe that God will listen to your prayers and that He will grant you your prayer to become a reality in the way He thinks best, then quite frankly what is the point. I absolutely believe that your faith and hope in every situation, in every prayer is so important.
In my life prayer changed so many situations and obstacles for the best. Yes it did not always work out the way I prayed for it but it worked out the way God thought was best. Whether it was a “not now” or a “Yes” or a “no – because there’s something better coming my way” I truly can thank God for the ability to understand that and that I have the faith to move forward and keep on praying for what I need and not losing hope at all in any of my situations I’m going through because I keep my faith in tact and my eye on God.
I want to finish this post with one of my favourite bible verses which has come a long way through my life which I absolutely try to live up to every day:
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 – “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
May GOD bless you abundantly and remember keep on praying no matter how big or small.
Thank you for following my posts.
